Microneedling, also known as SkinPen treatment, is a skin-remodeling procedure that stimulates your skin’s natural repair process by creating microscopic channels. It helps increase collagen and elastin for smoother, rejuvenated skin.

FAQs

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THIS TREATMENT?

Arrive at your appointment with a clean face. Discontinue retinoids 1 week prior, NSAID medications and blood thinning medications. Avoid sun burns and laser treatments at least 1 week prior.

DOES IT HURT?

Microneedling can be compared to a cat’s scratchy tongue licking you or a bad sunburn. A numbing cream is applied before the procedure.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

Your face will be red like a bad sunburn for 24-72 hours after treatment. In this time we recommend avoiding and sun exposure, a gentle cleanser, no makeup and avoiding strenuous activity where you will be sweating.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

You will see initial results almost immediately after the treatment. Then continued results for the next 3-12 months as the skin cells rejuvenate and collagen builds.

HOW IS THE TREATMENT ADMINISTERED?

Using a handheld pen device, electrically powered, with tiny needles that make precise, microscopic punctures in the skin.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

We recommend starting with 3 treatments that are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart and then 2-4 yearly to keep lasting results.
