PRF – Platelet-Rich Fibrin

PRF is a type of blood plasma that is rich in platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors. These growth factors play a crucial role in tissue regeneration, wound healing, and collagen production. Microneedling with PRF is a cosmetic procedure that combines the benefits of microneedling with the natural healing properties of PRF. Combining the two treatments stimulates collagen and elastin production, while PRF, derived from the patient’s own blood, delivers concentrated growth factors that enhance the healing and rejuvenating effects of the procedure. The growth factors in PRF stimulate hair follicles to enter the active growth phase, promoting hair regrowth. PRF can improve the density and thickness of existing hair, making it appear fuller and healthier.

DOES IT HURT?

PRF administration can cause very mild discomfort.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

Under eye redness, swelling can last up to 48 hours. Bruising can last a week to two weeks post procedure. Make up can be worn to cover this up 24 hours post treatment.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Results can be seen 2 weeks post treatment and will take up to 3-6 months to see as the growth factors and stem cells continue to develop showing long term skin improvements/hair growth such as collagen production, skin tightening and brightening.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

We recommend starting with 3 treatments that are scheduled 1 month apart initially. Maintenance is 1 treatment every 6 months for the first year and yearly each consecutive year to keep lasting results

HOW IS THE TREATMENT ADMINISTERED?

A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, fibrin, and growth factors from the other blood components. Using a cannula, or a BD needle these components are administered into the skin/scalp. When using in conjunction with microneedling it will be applied with a sanitized glove like a serum.
